The other day, we suddenly made a random plan of visiting Ramanarayanam temple near Vizianagaram. It is just an hour drive from Visakhapatnam. We decided to drive there on a Sunday evening and started from our place in Visakhapatnam at around 4 in the evening. The drive was smooth with the roads largely being good. Finding the location was easy with google maps and the place is situated on an easily accessible path from the main road.
Temple:
The parking place was huge with a few shops in the premises for buying eatables and beverages. After buying the tickets at the counter, we entered the temple area. The temple is built on a large area of about 15 acres and is in the shape of a bow and an arrow. As the name itself suggests, the temple is dedicated to Lord Rama.
The main temple is situated at the center and at one end of it is the temple of Rama and at the other end is the temple of Vishnu. Connecting these two temples is a large hall depicting the entire Ramayana in the form of idols and 3D art.
Two large sized statues of goddesses Lakshmi and Saraswati are situated at the two ends of the temple. In the middle, there is an idol of Lord Hanuman. A mesmerizing laser show is held here every day in the evening. Chairs are provided here to view the laser show and one should not miss this at any cost. The temple looks beautiful with all its lightings, providing one with a memorable experience to cherish upon.
There is a gosala, library and a veda pathashala surrounding the temple compound. Also, a kalyana mandapam is available for celebrating various occasions.
One can have a wonderful spiritual experience here and the whole visit of the temple would take around 2-3 hours. This is one of the must visit places for anyone visiting Visakhapatnam.
